Obituary

Helen Jean Mol, 82, of Jenks, OK, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at her home. Visitation will be held at the Moore's Rosewood Funeral Home in Tulsa, OK on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 1-6 p.m. Interment will precede the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, with a funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Tibey officiating. Helen was born in Fairmont, MN on August 3, 1931. She grew up in Fairmont, and later on the family farm in Winnebago, MN graduating from Winnebago High School in 1950. She married John A. Mol on June 10, 1953 in Winnebago, MN.
Helen's first love was her family and raising her four children, and later spending time with her four grandchildren. Helen loved the Lord and being active in the church. As a member of the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, she was a Friendship Bible Leader, helped teach Catechism to grade school children, and was a member of the Ladies Circle group. After moving to the Tulsa area in 1980, she joined Christ Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed working in the nursery with young children. She was employed at Oral Roberts University for many years.
She is survived by her husband John, of Jenks, OK; her daughter Patricia (Bob) Parks of Tulsa, OK, two sons James (Lisa) Douglas of Escondido, CA and Duane (Marilou) Mol of Galesburg, IL, and daughter Mary (Kelly) O'Brien of Lawrence, KS.
Helen had four grandchildren; Tripp and Rebecca Parks, both of Washington, D.C., and Kelsey and Samantha O'Brien, both of Lawrence, KS. She is also survived by her sister Delores Farnsworth of Minneapolis, MN, and sister-in-law Joanne Johnson of Des Moines, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Sidney and Clara Brockman; brothers and sisters-in-law Leland and Irene Brockman and Donald and Joan Brockman; and sister and brother-in-law Carol and Roy Manis.
Donations will be directed to the Missions Fund at Christ Presbyterian Church.
