Helen I. Sellers, age 100, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 31st, 2017, in her daughter's home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born on February 4, 1917, in Stigler, Oklahoma, to Archie and Johnie Tucker. She married Lloyd Sellers on December 10, 1937, in Porum, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Vernon Tucker. Helen is survived by her two daughters Mary Sue Hensley of St. Louis, Mo. and Alice Joy Williams of Broken Arrow, Ok. Helen has four grandchildren, Richard Hensley of Sullivan, Mo., Cyndi Hensley Shaw of Arnold, Mo., Brian Williams of Las Vegas, Nv., and Jonathan Williams of Broken Arrow, Ok. She also has nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Helen worked 31 years for retailers Brown Dunkin and Vandevers in Tulsa and retired in 1981. Helen was a proud homeowner, avid gardener, enjoyed cooking for her family, and telling stories about her family history. Life has presented challenges for Helen, but her strong will, her love for family, and concern for friends and neighbors have been hallmarks of her first 100 years. She was kind, generous, sweet, and loved by all.
