Hilda Ast Dillingham went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 25, 2016 at the age of 95. Born September 15, 1920, in Yukon, Oklahoma, to Benard and Rosa Ast, she was the eighth of 10 children. She very much loved her family and was very dedicated to them, caring for her parents and elderly sisters in their later years.
After graduating from Yukon High School in 1939, Hilda moved to Oklahoma City where she went to business school, worked until her early 30's and eventually met her husband, Vernon Dillingham, whom she married in 1953 and started a family with a few years later. Unfortunately, Hilda lost Vernon too early in 1970, and found herself raising two young daughters on her own. She never remarried, instead committing herself to her daughters, even into adulthood, and later her grandchildren.
Hilda loved playing golf and some of her favorite times were on the golf course with her friends and daughters, sharing stories and creating precious memories.
Finally, Hilda deeply loved her faith and Church, dedicating many hours in service to the Church and for others throughout her life. Although Hilda spent most of her life in Oklahoma City, in her later years, she moved to Tulsa to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren.
Hilda is survived by her daughters, Diann Carnahan and Sharon Anthamatten; sons-in-law, John Carnahan and Brad Anthamatten; and grandchildren, Blake and Kristen Anthamatten. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at St. Charles Borromeo at 5024 N. Grove, Oklahoma City, OK 73122. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to:
