It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Holly Thi Nester (born Thuy Thi Tran), who departed this life on July 27, 2025, in Houston, Texas, just days before her 53rd birthday.
Holly was born on August 2, 1972, the daughter of Nhoung Tran and Rachel (Huu) Nguyen, in Kien Luong, a rural district in Kien Giang Province, nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. From humble beginnings, Holly carried with her a spirit of resilience, warmth, and unwavering faith throughout her life's journey.
Holly was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Aaron Nester, and their beloved daughter, Victoria Nester, who was the joy and pride of her life. Her nurturing heart and vibrant energy will forever remain with them.
She is also survived by a large and loving extended family. Her siblings include her older brother Khoi Tran (wife Melisa) and their children Israel, Princess, Grace, Elijah, Judah, Ezekiel, and Faith; her older sister Lorie Cole (husband Dan); her younger brother John Tran (wife Tiffany) and their children Sydany and Tommy; her younger brother Trung Tran (wife Jennifer) and their children Hailey and Micah; her younger sister Xuan Carrasco (husband Josh); and her youngest sister Josie Tran.
Holly's life was marked by her unwavering love for family, her deep faith in God, and her passion for cooking. Her kitchen was a gathering place, where meals became memories and recipes were shared like family heirlooms. Her kindness, laughter, and generous spirit touched all who knew her.
Holly's legacy is one of love, strength, and grace. She leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a family deeply thankful for the time they were blessed to spend with her.
A viewing will also be held at Moore Funeral Home- Southlawn Chapel on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 12-8pm. A celebration of Holly's life will be held at Moore Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Southlawn Chapel on August 6, 2025 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Holly's memory by offering a prayer, or simply living with the same heart she shared with the world.
She will be missed dearly and remembered always.
