Blagg, Howard Boone, 92, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. Howard was born in Prosper, Texas on February 17, 1924 to Turner & Leona (Wallis) Blagg. Howard attended school in Celina, Texas graduating in 1941.
WWII had this nation in high alert so rather than college, he learned telegraphy so seek employment with the Railroads. After jobs with several companies, he settled on one, the Frisco in 1943. After a year working in Sherman, Texas, he was given a leave of absence to join the military. Howard served with the Infantry in Germany. Captured in November 1944 and spent seven months in prison camps and working in the forest.
Returned home in 1945 and started college in North Texas State and TCU. Rejoined the Frisco and was assigned to St. Louis, Missouri where he met and married Evelyn Davis in 1951. New assignments were Pittsburg, Lubbock, and Tulsa where he was appointed Assistant District Sales Manager. In 1961 they welcomed their only son Chip.
Railroads were beginning to consolidate so he left to help start a corrugated box plant where he spent the next 20 years.
Howard was a 50-year member of the Kiwanis Club of Tulsa also Chairman of the XPOW Club of Tulsa. He is survived by his son Chip and his wife Kimberly, nephew Jack Griffin and his wife Laurie all of Houston, Texas.
Service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 13, 2016 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 7903 E. 15th, Tulsa, OK. Interment will be at Sparkman Hillcrest Mausoleum in Dallas, TX. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at
