Obituary

Hugh Farrell Eidt, 82, passed away March 20, 2014. Hugh was born January 21, 1932 to Herbert and Cerene Collins Eidt in Detroit, MI. He attended schools in the Detroit area and graduated from St. Joe's Prep School in Bradstown, KY. Hugh served in the Army during the Korean War after which he attended Hillsdale College for a year and finished his college career at the University of Michigan.
After graduating from Michigan he was employed with Youngstown Sheet and Tube and began his long career in the steel business making many long lasting friendships. In Youngstown, OH he met his future wife, Marjorie Walsh. They were married February 20, 1960 and moved to Atlanta, GA. They also lived in Tulsa, Chicago, Orange California and have been back to Tulsa for 40 years. They had four children. Hugh enjoyed many activities especially playing golf with his friends. Over the years Hugh has been active in many church activities, ushering the past few years and being involved with the Serra Club of the Catholic Church for the past 20 years. He also served on the Board for Meals on Wheels and especially enjoyed delivering meals for 19 years.
He is survived by his wife, Margie, of 54 years, daughter Justine Tobin and son-in-law David of Charlotte, NC, son Colin of Springfield, IL, daughter Maria of Tulsa, and niece Jan Muffley of Dallas and grandchildren Hannah, Jonathan, and Max Tobin and many nephews and nieces. Hugh is preceded in death by his son Jonathan (1974), his parents, sister Beverly McConnachie Remus and brothers Richard and Herbert Eidt. Hugh will be buried in Orange, California next to his son, Jonathan at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
Services will include Rosary at 6 PM, March 23, 2014 followed by viewing at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st. Mass of Christian burial will be at the Church of St. Mary, 1347 E. 49th St., 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 24, 2014. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com
