Hugh Tankersley passed away January 13, 2017. The son of Oklahoma pioneers Clarence and Allie Tankersley, Hugh was born January 9, 1936. After graduating from Tulsa's Central High School in 1954, Hugh attended the University of Tulsa, where he was a Sigma Chi. Hugh worked many years for the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and later owned Tankersley & Associates, a drafting firm that served numerous major oil and gas clients. A "dyed-in-the-wool" Sooner fan, Hugh also cheered on the "showtime" L.A. Lakers. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roy and sister Regenia Higgins Brown. Survivors include his son Stephen, daughter Susan and grandchildren Emma and Max. Also, nephews Chad Higgins and Robert Brown, nieces Paula Skyvera, Janice Brown and Jarene Teters, as well as their spouses and children. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home Chapel.
