Obituary

Inez Wilbanks went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 23, 2026 in Claremore, Oklahoma at the age of 94, surrounded by her family. Inez was born in Monroe, Oklahoma in 1931 , to George Neeley and Grace (Ray) Neeley, and attended schools in Heavener.

She married her childhood sweetheart, LG Wilbanks of Heavener, in 1948. During their 73 years of marriage, they lived briefly in Heavener and Oklahoma City, and then moved to Tulsa to raise their three children, Carlotta Ruth, Kathy Diane, and Timothy Alan. Inez retired in 1993 after 25 years as a retail store manager. In Tulsa, they lived in the same house for 57 years before moving to Claremore in 2015 to live with daughter Kathy. Inez and LG were members of South Lakewood Baptist Church for over 60 years where Inez served in numerous capacities throughout the church. She served in Bible School, sang in the choir, participated in Women's Auxiliary, helped in the church office in the early years, and was affectionately known as the "cookie lady" by all the children in Awana. In their senior years, Inez and LG loved participating in game night at church and everyone always looked forward to seeing what kind of homemade pie Inez was going to bring.

Holidays were always special at the Wilbanks house thanks to Inez spending countless hours preparing meals and gifts. There was usually an entire table reserved for all the different pies she had made so everyone would have their favorite.

Inez was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband LG Wilbanks; brothers Seaman and Dean; and sisters Rose Ellen, Irene, and Ruth. She is survived by her three children: daughter Carlotta (Tim) Rose of Darby, Montana, daughter Kathy (Denny) Kochheiser of Claremore, Oklahoma, and son Tim (Kim) Wilbanks of Owasso, Oklahoma; grandchildren Melissa (Brian) Scheef, Nicole (Daniel Jones) Martin, Kristin (Shane) Yalowizer, Cody (Dannielle) Wilbanks, Laura (Nick) Etter, and Jason Kochheiser; great grandchildren Kendra (Shane) Harrison, Jessie (DJ) Beshear, Adam (Lynsey) Scheef, Sabe Yalowizer, Jale Yalowizer, Aubrey Wilbanks, Arlus Yatowizer, Brylie Wilbanks, Atticus Yalowizer, Jackson Etter, Emma Wilbanks, Henry Jones, Jayla Etter and Declan Wilbanks; great-great grandchildren Gracie McClain, Savannah McClain, and Kassandra Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice Care for their compassionate care, which provided comfort and dignity to their mom in her final days, and a special thanks to Home Health aid Elizabeth Fields who became like another grandchild to her during the years she helped them care for their mother.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel where the family will receive visitors from 4-5 PM , and a Celebration of Life will be at Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st in Tulsa, on Monday, July 2 , 2026 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
