*Obit says burial was in Restlawn - however the stone is in Fairview.
* Ira F. Thompson, 79, a former Coffeyville resident and Sinclair employee died in St. Johns Hospital Tulsa about 6 pm Wednesday. He had been a patient there since Easter Sunday.
He was born March 30, 1896 at Vinita, the son of William Newton & Alice (LaRoe) Thompson.
He spent his early youth and received his education at Vinita. In 1914 he began work for Sinclair Refining Company at Vinita. Following the closing of the plant he transferred to Coffeyville in 1923 and was employed here until the plant closed in 1949. He was then transferred to Sinclair, Wyoming where he was employed until his retirement in 1961.
He later lived in Mesa, Arizona and Cocoa Beach, Florida. The couple returned to Coffeyville to make their home in 1963. They moved to Tulsa in 1972.
He was a former member of the First Christian Church here and a former member of the Moose Lodge.
He was married June 3, 1943 at Oswego to Mrs. Jean Arnold who survives at the home in Tulsa.
Also surviving is one daughter Mrs. Charles R. (Margaret) Newman of Torch, Ohio; one son Jack A. Thompson of Beaverton, Oregon; one step daughter Mrs. Lydia (Frances) Blaylock of Tulsa; one brother Roy P. Thompson of 3605 W. 6th; two sisters - Mrs. Delbert (Nell) Daily of Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Roy (Inez) Garrison of Bartlesville; 6 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; and 1 step great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 am Friday at the Ford Funeral Home with burial in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Roy P. Thompson.
* Craig County Oklahoma Marriages Show: Thompson, Ira, of Vinita, OK, age 22, to Arnold, Miss Pearl, of Vinita, OK, age 17, on 28 Jun 1919; and a "Pearl Arnold Thompson" died in Vinita, OK in 1973 (perhaps the first wife of Ira).
* Ira is possibly a brother of Willis Thompson, who died in 1966 at Parsons, Kansas - and who married Edna Dora Doan of Vinita, Craig County, OK. (per Eddene Hightower Thompson (#46850125)
