Ira J. Watkins,75, was born in Georgia on July 15, 1903 to George R. and Druella (Ella) Gregory Watkins. He lived in Tulsa, OK and died at Sapulpa Nursing Home in Sapulpa, OK on December 7, 1978. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Phillips Petroleum Company. He was survived by daughter, Norman Jean Been of the home & her spouse, Elton; sisters, Roberta Duvall of Tulsa, OK, Dorothy Anderson of Copan, OK; brothers, Russell Watkins of Grove, OK, Curtis Watkins of Tacoma, WA; 3 grandsons, Gary, Steve and Michael Been; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Winona Withrow Watkins who died in 1937.
