Irene Elizabeth Murphy, 93, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at her home in Tulsa, OK. She was born to Eugene and Rose Letourneau on May 11,1924 at home on the farm where she was raised with her 6 siblings near Leduc, Alberta, Canada. For 48 years, she was married to the love of her life, Woodrow 'Woody' Murphy, residing in Tulsa, OK where they raised their 2 sons. Before becoming a mother, Irene was employed at American Airlines, then later she retired from Tulsa Public Schools after working for many years in the school cafeteria. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her love for family and friends was unconditional. Irene was a devout Catholic and an active volunteer through the years at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was a member for 6 decades. She was also a long-time volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Irene will be remembered for her infectious grin and laugh, ready to brighten other's days and never expecting anything in return. Irene is survived by her 2 sons, Shawn Murphy and wife, Robyn of Owasso, OK; and Chris Murphy of Tulsa, OK; as well as 2 grandchildren, Shawn Murphy Jr. and Danielle Murphy; and 3 great-grandchildren, Shawn Vincent, Joshua, and Jacob. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Washbourne and her husband, Larry, and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.S. and Canada. She is predeceased by her husband, Woody, her parents, and 5 siblings: Lucille Ainsley, Lawrence Letourneau, Helene Hamill, Patricia Harris, and Fred Letourneau . Visitation will be 5-7 pm Monday, March 5, 2018 followed by a Rosary at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Tuesday, March 6, 2018, all at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1436 North 67th East Ave, Tulsa, OK.

Viewing will be 5-7 P.M., Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 1436 N. 67th E. Ave., Tulsa, OK with a Rosary to following at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
