Iris McWilliams Hurley, aged 87, died peacefully on July 27, 2015 at her home in Katy, Texas. Iris was born June 11, 1928, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roland McWilliams and Faye Foster and along with her two siblings, Jack McWilliams and Betty McWilliams Chronic who enjoy a happy childhood.
Iris thoroughly enjoyed playing bridge and golf as well as supporting many philanthropic organizations. Iris graduated from Tulsa Central High School and attended Oklahoma State University, where she was a Chi Omega sorority member.
In 1949, Iris married the love of her life A.H. (Bud) Hurley Jr. and upon his completion of Engineering School; they traveled the world before returning to Tulsa. After Bud's death she moved to Texas to be close to her son.
In addition to raising their son she also volunteered with Littleton Independent School District and the Denver Petroleum Club. She also served on the Oklahoma Board of Mental Health for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband A.H. Hurley Jr., as well as her parents and siblings.
Iris is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Christi; grandson Michael Hurley all of Katy, Texas. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Friday, July 31, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 1, 2015 at at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
