Isabel Keller Graf Saterbak died on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born December 17, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia to Emma Isabel (Keller) and Howard David Graf.
Isabel attended Druid Hills School, Atlanta, Georgia for 12 years before continuing her education at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.
Isabel met Wayne Saterbak on a blind date during his senior year at GeorgiaTech and they were married on June 16, 1955 before Wayne began his lifelong career with Chicago Bridge and Iron Company.
Isabel had many hobbies over the years as she moved around the country. She played basketball in high school, joined the Synchronized Swimming Club while at Wesleyan College, sang in school and church choirs, played competitive tennis, joined garden clubs, made many ceramic pieces as well as teaching ceramic classes, completed several oil paintings and created many stained-glass pieces.
One of her greatest achievements was earning an Illinois Nursing Home Administrator License.
She served as the Administrator at Rosewood Nursing Home in Wheaton, Illinois for several years. She also served as Regent (President) for the Captain Peter Ankeny DAR Chapter in Tulsa. She became very interested in genealogy which led to many trips within the United States as well as Germany. She also held positions within John Knox Presbyterian Church as a choir member, Circle Leader, Deacon and Elder.
Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and their husbands, and a daughter, Linda Gayle Saterbak Goodwin. Isabel is survived by her husband, Wayne of 68 years and daughter and her husband; Deborah Ann Saterbak (Jeff) Bennett of Stillwater, OK, son-in-law; Harold Alan Goodwin of Tulsa, OK, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 2929 East 31st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105 on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to John Knox Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund.
