Ivan Henry Knight, 83, of Tulsa, passed away Sunday, June 18th, 2017. He was born June 21st, 1933 in Carthage, MO to Jessie and Florence Knight. He was a boxer before serving in the Air Force as a Sergeant. He worked in several different areas throughout his life. He owned a barber shop for 10 years and Airway Variety Shop for 41 years. The Airway location on Sheridan for 16 years and the Admiral location for 25 years. He was a coach for the Rockford Boys Home for more than 5 years, then became an umpire. He loved sports of all kinds. He was a charter member of Southeast Baptist Church where it started in the home of Tim and Cleoann Calhoun. He had a nickname for everyone and loved his family very much. Ivan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helvia Knight; his children, Sharon Floyd and Darlene Singleton; his grandchildren, Melissa Randell of Tulsa; Adam Singleton and Joe Singleton, both of Owasso; great grandchildren, Krista Hill; Melody Murphy; Ivan Hill; Aaron Remington; Daniel Edwards, all of Tulsa; great great grandchildren, Fayth Murphy and Jennifer Murphy; his siblings, Chester Knight of Scottsdale, AZ; Norman Knight of Joplin, MO; and Kathy Fahnestock of Carthage, MO; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Tonya Frost; and his brother, Ray Knight.
