J. D. Hannah, 88, of Tulsa went into the arms of our Lord on July 14, 2010. He was born June 2, 1922 in Tipton, Oklahoma to George and Antonia Hannah. After graduating from Tipton High School, he attended Oklahoma A&M where he studied mechanical engineering. He then enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1943, receiving his wings in 1944. While serving in the military J.D. took a leave over Christmas to marry his high school sweetheart, Wilma, and they shared 65 years of marriage together. He continued his military service and piloted the AT-11 aircraft on bombardier training flights as a Second Lieutenant. He received flight engineer training for the B-29 obtaining the rank of First Lieutenant and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. After his military service, he and Wilma moved to Garden City, Kansas where he became a flight instructor. He then received his A&P license from Spartan School of Aeronautics and began employment with American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he worked for 36 years retiring in 1984. J.D. loved flying and wanted to pass that love of flying on to younger people includ- ing his son. He helped lead an explorer scout troop where the scouts learned about plane restoration, maintenance and obtained their private pilot licenses. His passions in life were his faith, family, friends, his church and the OSU Cowboys, all of which he deeply loved. He was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church and some of his favorite times were spent there with the Monday Morning Crew and at the Clarence Caf�. J. D. will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He is survived by his wife Wilma, daughter Karen Ray and her husband Rodney of Owasso, son Steve Hannah and his wife Teresa of Ft. Worth, Texas, and daughter Pam Denker and her husband Randy of Enid; grandchildren Heather Dillard and husband Bryan, Chad Poston and wife Monica, Megan Hannah; Hannah, Hayley and Nicholas Denker and great grandchildren Dylan, Makenzie, Presley, Chase and Noah.

Family visitation 6-8 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2010, Moore's Eastlawn Chapel. Service 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010, Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
