Jack Keith Averitt, Sr, 93 years old, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on May 27, 2024 in Flower Mound, Texas. He was the beloved husband of Carol Mae Averitt, sharing 70 years of marriage together.
Born in Livingston, Tennessee, on December 22,1930, he was the son of Thurman and Colah Averitt. Upon graduation from Livingston Academy, Jack attended and graduated from Tennessee Tech in 1952 and pursued his Masters degree at Oklahoma State University. He was a service member in the U.S. Navy, and received an honorable discharge in 1955. He started AMECO Inc. in 1971 and retired in 2011. During his time of employment, he was a member of ASHRAE.
Jack was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family and friends, who loved him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, encourage and love will be forever ingrained in all he knew. Jack will be remembered for his honesty, integrity and devotion to God, family and friends. He always loved the outdoors, especially Colorado fishing, and mission work.
He is survived by the love of his life, Carol Mae, sister Linda Jane Tipton (Terry), daughters Cheryl Gwartney (Mike), Michelle Younkman (Dave), and son Jack Keith Averitt, Jr, (Janna), grandchildren, Brad, Joel, Matt, Victoria, Jensen, Danielle, Addyson and Grayson, and great grandchild Callum. He was predeceased by his parents Thurman and Colah Averitt, brother Dr. Ross Averitt, and sons John Kelly and Kevin Casey.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 5th at 3:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home, Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E 51st St, Tulsa, OK 74145.
