John Harley Ratchford, or "Jack" as he was known to all, 57, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Saturday, June 5, 1976. He was born on Monday, June 17, 1918, in Bryant, Hamlin County, SD, to Thomas J. Ratchford and Vinnie Marie (Cole) Ratchford. He was proud to have served as a Technician Fifth Grade Corporal in the United States Army in WWII. After graduating from Denver University, in 1948, Jack came to Tulsa to join Standard Oil of Indiana, where he was an Accountant. He was a charter member and first President of the Men's Club of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, active in Boy Scouts of America for 14 years, President of the Red Crown Federal Credit Union for the past two years, President of 131st Ordnance Maintenance Battalion, Reunion Association, and was currently organizing a reunion to be held in Tulsa on Labor Day, 1976. Jack is survived by his wife, Margaret Mary (Merrick) Ratchford of the home; two sons, John T. Ratchford of Tulsa, OK, and James A. Ratchford of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Mrs. Vivian Holdaway of Diana, TX; three grandchildren; and sister, Mrs. Esther Gabler of Tulsa, OK.
