JACOB JORISHIE, JR. passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023. Born April 20, 1949. Survived by sister Diana Deeba of St. Louis, brother Jeff Jorishie (and wife Beth Jorishie), nephews Richard Deeba (wife Leslie Deeba), JJ Jorishie, Lucas Lastinger and Samuel Deeba. Nieces Ashley Lastinger, Amira Lastinger and Maya Deeba plus many cousins. Eagle Scout Award in 1963. Graduated in 1977, Tulsa University with a BS in Biology and 2008 BA in Music. Joined the Navy and upon completion of his service in 1977 opened his dental practice in Tulsa. 1996-97 President of Golden Hurricane Club and on the board for 20 years. President of Lebanese Clubs of America from 1989-1999. Endowed many various scholarships. Received in 2004 College's Distinguished Service award, 2002 Henry Kendall College of Arts Sciences award, 2008 the J. Paschal Twyman Award, 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award from TU. Silver Massabki Award from Eparchy of our Lady of Lebanon, Perpetual Member of Order of St. Sharbel. Plus, many other numerous awards. In his own words-There is truly no greater gift in life than the gift of giving. To me, the greatest reward at the end of one's life journey is to be able to say, "I'm glad I did rather than I wish I had."
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Therese Church, 8315 S. 107th E. Ave. Tulsa, OK 74133. Rosary Thursday, Sept. 7, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Friday, Sept. 8, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
