Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Jacob Donald Polk announce his sudden passing on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the age of 36. He was born on December 13, 1984 in Tulsa to Alan and Diane (Cooper) Polk. He was preceded in death by his parents, his paternal grandparents, his maternal grandparents, his uncle Donald Polk, and his uncle John Cooper.

Jacob is survived by his wife Erin and sons Connor and Colin; his sister Brandie Harris and husband Danny of Broken Arrow; his brother Adam Polk of Kansas City, his brother Matt Polk and wife Cara of Joplin; his step-sister Mollie Dees of Seneca; his step-brother David Wyrick and wife Beretta of Joplin; his step-brother Michael Wyrick of Wichita; his step-father Phil Wyrick of Joplin; nieces Cadence Kahre, McKenna Harris, Madison Harris, Isabelle Polk, and Alana Polk; nephews Keagan Harris and Marek Polk; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jacob had a talent for making people laugh with his sense of humor and sarcasm. Whether he was poking fun at himself or someone else, he could find humor in any situation and enjoyed being the life of the party. Jacob loved movies and could quote the best lines from almost every comedy ever made. He also loved music and enjoyed teaching his sons about new artists and songs that were meaningful to him.

Jacob's proudest accomplishment was being a father to his two sons. They were his pride and joy and he spoke about them every chance he got, to anyone who would listen. Some of their best times together were spent having batting practice and playing catch in the backyard. Jacob was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and loved having his boys by his side rooting for the Cubs. He also made sure to teach them that it was okay to be friends with Cardinals fans, but it was never okay to root for the St. Louis Cardinals.
