Obituary

James Albert Adams was born March 9, 1947 in Wardell, Missouri to the late Virl and Etta Adams. He departed this life on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 74 years old.

He grew up and attended school in Missouri and graduated high school in Sturgeon, Missouri. On July 30, 2005, James and Karen Adams were united in marriage in Berryhill, Oklahoma. Karen preceded James in death on February 26, 2021. They had been married for 16 years.

James retired from the State Farm Insurance Company in 1989 when he moved to Verdigris, Oklahoma. He continued his career with real estate in Claremore and then switched his career to doing security guard work at the Cherokee Nation Casino. He later moved back to Portageville, Missouri to be close to family.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. James enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in all their sporting events and attending old time car shows. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart. James was especially fond of his dog, Roxie.

James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen Adams; son-in-law, Michael Maupin; siblings, Lester Gremard, AnnaMae Gremard, Ervin Gremard, Louise Adams, Lily Pearl Adams, Buddy Adams, Connie Adams, Billie Gene Adams and Gloretha Adams.

James is survived by his daughter, Michelle Maupin; son, Michael Adams and his wife, Cynthia; step-daughter, Julie Wilson; step-son, Jerry Suitor and his wife, Taresa; grandchildren, Ryan Maupin and his wife, Bri, David Maupin and his wife, Alicia, Emily Barnes and her husband, Jesse, and Hunter Adams; step-grandchildren, Whitney Suitor, Jason Suitor and his wife, Tara, Matthew Suitor and Taylor Suitor, Heather Grubbs, Megan Baxter, Courtney Downing and Zach Downing; great-grandchildren, Jackson Richardson, Michael Maupin, Ensley Maupin, Oaklee Barnes, Henry Barnes, Hanna Lahmeyer, Noah Suitor, Hudson Suitor and Blue Rivero; numerous, nieces, nephews. other relatives and a host of friends.

The family will greet friends 2pm-4pm, Sunday, February 27 2022 and the funeral service will be held 10am, Monday, February 28, 2022 both at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, OK. Condolences may be left online at www.moorefuneral.com
