Obituary

James "Jim" Otto Allen, long time resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma and most recently Inverness Village died Friday March 25, 2016, at the age of 95.

Jim was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas on November 28, 1920 to parents James Otto Allen, Sr. and Martha Andrews Allen. Jim's siblings include Faye Kincaid (Wilfred), Walter E. Allen, (Jinx) and Dorothy Powell, (Glen), who predeceased him. Jim is survived by his youngest sister, Frances Cleary (Bud). As his father was a "Railroad Man", the Allen family lived in Arkansas, Texas, Kansas, and Missouri. This no doubt was the source of Jim's lifelong passionate interest in trains and railroads.

Following his honorable World War II service in the US Army Air Corp, Jim returned to Kansas City, Missouri where he met and wed his lifetime love, soul mate, and wife of 64 years Frances Beth Sivic, who preceded him in death. They were married December 20, 1947 and together they raised three children, Anita Kaye Beesley, (Ron), Debra Sue Nicholas, (John) and Richard Douglas Allen, (Monti). The family followed Jim's career moves through Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas, and finally to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967. He worked for General Motors, Trans World Airlines, Great Lakes Pipeline Company, and Williams Pipeline Company, from which he retired to pursue his love of wood working, gardening, fishing, and hunting.

Jim deeply enjoyed his adult children's families including grandchildren Bonnie Watson, Ryan Beesley, Ben Beesley, (Haley), Katie Carpenter, (Mike), James Parker "JP" Allen, Andie Allen, Beth Allen (Bryce), and great grandson Braxton James Fischer; all of whom knew him as "Bopper". He shared his hobbies, love of reading, life stories, and experiences, leaving each with fond indelible memories. His wit and infectious smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jim will be interred with Frances in the columbarium at Asbury United Methodist Church, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held at Inverness Village in Tulsa on Friday, April 8, at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate Jim's long and joyful 95 years. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the "Inverness Village Benevolent Care Fund" (3800 W. 71st Street; Tulsa, OK 74132).
