BUTLER, James R., Jr., 87, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Tulsa, OK Born May 16, 1926 in Oklahoma City, OK to James Aaron Rufus and Vivian (Ward) Butler. He was a Marine serving in WWII and Korea, an entrepreneur, and Manager of the Hallett Motor Racing Circuit from 1983-1989; a job that grew out of his own auto racing career which began at age 50. Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 56 years and mother of his children, Ann Butler; two sisters, and one brother. Survived by his wife, Sherri of the home; his children, Janet Pie of Tulsa, OK, Marilyn Butler and husband, Rob Nichols of Durham, NC, Richard Butler and wife, Rosella of Woodinville, WA, and Sally Kaiser and husband, Mark of Franklin, TN; step-children, Kim Kirby and husband, George of Pueblo, CO, Kenneth Cole and Brenda Redel of Peoria, AZ, Michael Cole of Bloomington, IL, and Michelle Smith and husband, Tony of Tulsa, OK; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; best friend, Bentley the dog. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tulsa Animal Shelter, 3031 N. Erie Ave., Tulsa, OK 74115. Family will greet friends 6-8 P.M., Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Moore?s Southlawn.
