Conley, James Donald "Don," 85, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, in Nowata, OK. Don was born in Tulsa, OK on January 28, 1930, to James Everett and Cuba (Simmons) Conley. Don was a 1947 graduate of Central High School. He attended Oklahoma A & M (Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK), taking classes in engineering, but left school to join the Navy. He served from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. For his service he received the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. In the summer of 1955, he met Martha Jane Roye. They were married in November of 1955. Early in his career he spent quite a bit of time in Houston with NASA working on the seals for space suits. Later, Don traveled the world as a consultant and troubleshooter for the petroleum transport industry. He retired in 1992 from Facet-Quantek.
Don is survived by his sons, James Mark Conley and Kevin Glen Conley, both of Tulsa; daughter, Karen Diane Brown and her husband Jeff of Nowata, OK; son, David Brian Conley of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Kristie Renee Conley and her partner Becky Breinig of Oklahoma City, OK; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and 4 sisters.
Visitation: 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street.
