James Earl Curzon of Tulsa passed away Tuesday March 18, 2014 at the age of 83. Born in Los Angeles, California October 6, 1930 along with his twin brother Eugene, to Eugene Charles and Allene Noel Curzon. Jim attended Los Angeles High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Vera Alice Roush in 1952. He received a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines where he was also a member of Beta Theta Pi. He served in the US Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Korea. His career as a Petroleum Engineer with Phillips Petroleum Company took Jim and his family to Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and Oklahoma, concluding in Norway where he served as the Director of waterflood and subsidence projects. He spent much of his spare time serving the many churches that they attended in the communities where they lived. He was a dedicated scoutmaster for his sons and many other young men, and he proudly enjoyed seeing his two sons and four grandsons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. After retirement he spent his time serving others at Kirk of the Hills, Meals on Wheels and Clarehouse. He took great pride in his yard and Vera's gardens.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vera, of Montereau Retirement Center; his brother Dr. Eugene and wife Margot of Franklin, Louisiana; son Thomas and wife Anne of Phoenix; son John and wife Marti of Broken Arrow; grandsons and wives, Peter and Caroline, Danny and Kelsey, Jordan and Miranda, and Dustin and Emily. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family is especially grateful to the staff at Montereau Health Center where he received loving care.
In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations in Jim's memory to Clarehouse or the Deacons Fund at Kirk of the Hills. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday March 22, 2014 at Kirk of the Hills.
