James (Jim) Edward Dunne, II, age 78, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.
Born on October 11, 1947, in Yerington, Nevada, to James (Jay) Edward Dunne, Sr. and Joyce (Lundgren) Dunne, Jim was raised in Tulsa, where he built a life full of friendships and a home that was always open.
Jim proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his service, he found his calling in the early, groundbreaking days of computer science, becoming a true computer wizard long before most people knew what computers were capable of. He spent his career at Kaiser Francis Oil Company, where his skills, problem-solving, and willingness to help made him indispensable, retiring in 2017 to the dismay of anyone who ever relied on his expertise.
Retirement only gave Jim more time for the things he loved most. He stayed active with Shriner and Masonic activities, traveled with his beloved wife and constant companion JJ, and spent countless hours watching sports with friends and family, preferably at home or in Las Vegas, his favorite travel destination. His door was always open, his chair always available, and no one ever left feeling like a stranger.
Jim was known for his gregarious personality, generous spirit, and genuine kindness. Every friend was family, and family always came first. He was a devoted reader, deeply fascinated by General Patton, and never missed an opportunity to rewatch Patton or read yet another book about the general-often more than once.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, JJ Dunne, and his son, Donny Graham. He is survived by his children, Jody Graham, Corey Graham, Tamra (Tamara/Tammy Jo) Turberville, Tasha Dunne, and Wayne and Cindy Tesch; his sister and brother-in-law Jan and Ernest Freeman; his sister Jill Dunne; his grandchildren, Halli and Corey Hughes, and Luke Baxter; and his beloved great-granddaughter, Lilly, who brought him immeasurable joy.
Jim was deeply loved by many and will be remembered for his warmth, humor, generosity, and the way he made everyone feel welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Adkar Shriners, honoring Jim's lifelong commitment to service, generosity, and helping others-exactly the way he lived.
A Memorial Service will be held at Moore's Rosewood Chapel Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 1:00 PM.
