James Edward Haney, 84, peacefully entered eternal life Sunday November 11, 2018, at his home in Tulsa, OK. He was born in Belleville, AR on November 9, 1934, to John Haney and Carmen Sides Haney. James worked for the Corp of Engineers in Land Acquisitions. He was proud to have served in the United States Navy. James attended Maranatha Assembly of God church in Tulsa, OK. He loved music, played the harmonica, and was the Choir Director for Capitol Hill Assembly of God church in Tulsa, OK. He was very artistic and enjoyed wood carving, painting and making stained glass. James was a kind, gentle man with a generous, giving spirit, who loved people and valued his friendships and relationships with family. He will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us because we were privileged to have him in our lives. James is survived by his spouse of 62 years, Judy Haney, of the home; son, James Steve Haney of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Karen Layton and spouse George of Conway, SC; sister, Elaine Earp of Tulsa, OK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families; his church family; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
