James Lawrence (Jim) Dixon, born in Lone Wolf, OK on January 12, 1932 to Lawrence and Marthella Dixon. He attended school in Dill City and Cordell, Oklahoma until 7th grade, when he moved to Clovis, New Mexico. He completed high school in Clovis, where he played football. He attended Oklahoma University School of Pharmacy in Norman and received his degree in 1955.
Jim worked at Scott Robison's Pharmacy for many years before he and a partner purchased the three stores, where he continued to work until retirement. He served as a deacon in the Park Plaza Church of Christ, where he was a member since the 1970s. Through the years, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and collecting coins and arrowheads. An avid OU football fan, he loved going to games with family. He enjoyed cowboy poetry, and he leaves behind a treasury of old paperback westerns.
Jim is survived by an adoring family consisting of his wife of 61 years, Marilynn, his 3 children Scott Dixon, Stacey Dixon, and Brenda Gear. He has 5 grandchildren Kimberly Fritz (27), Harper and Andrew Crockett (20 and 21), and Jamison and Jack Gear (14 and 11), and 1 great grandchild, Lucas Fritz (9 months). Jim also leaves a beautiful sister Joan Kay.
Visitation will be 5-7 P.M., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Service will be 11:00 A.M., Park Plaza Church of Christ, 5925 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Interment will be 2:00 P.M., Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Ok. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
