James E. Marshall, 91, of Tulsa died Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. James was born on March 12, 1932, to Fred and Ada (Mills) Marshall in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

James married the love of his life, Wanda Deloris Ecker Marshall on July 19, 1952, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Three months later James was drafted into the US Army. He proudly served as a Morse code operator during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and achieved the rank of Sergeant. After returning home, James worked in communications as an electrician for AT&T, Western Electric, and Southwestern Bell.

James was a man who loved his family dearly and he enjoyed spending time with all of them. He was a talented carpenter and even built a large addition to the home where he and Wanda raised their children. James had a gift for automotive mechanics, gardening, cooking, and was a nature enthusiast with the patience for teaching others his skills.

James is preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Teresa Stone Newcomb, Crystal Tate, daughter-in-law Janee, 3 sisters Edna, Betty, and Mildred, and his brother Bob. He is survived by his wife Wanda, son James of Skiatook, daughter Elizabeth and husband Bradley of Tulsa, 17 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be 12-8 PM Monday, April 3rd at Moore Southlawn Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 4th at 10 AM at Moore Southlawn Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. A family gathering will occur after the graveside service at Rocky Meadow Farm located at 4900 East 488 Road, Claremore.
