Jim Ellis of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed peacefully from this life on August 30, 2017. He was born on November 30, 1930 in Covington, Ohio to Benjamin Franklin Ellis and Mildred Alice Asher. He married Caroline Jane Phillis on August 1, 1951. Within two weeks of his nuptials, he was asked to serve his country with the Army National Guard and was shipped to Germany. After his four years of service from 1951-1954, he returned to BF Goodrich as a Sales and Service Representative in Troy, Ohio. From 1951-1960 they added five boys to their family. BF Goodrich relocated him to Tulsa, OK in 1963. There they had one girl. His career with BF Goodrich spanned 42 years and when Michelin Tires bought them out they gladly kept him on. He worked with Michelin for 10 years. After retirement, Jim and Caroline traveled extensively enjoying Hawaii, London, Scotland and Florida among many other locations. He was an active member of Regency Park Church of the Nazarene. He was loved by all and will leave a hole that can't be filled.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline, son Jim and wife, Mary, son John and wife Cathy, son Dennis, son Rick and wife Debra, son Dwight and wife Debbie, daughter Mary Ann Barrett and husband Donald.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chip Ellis, Andy Ellis and wife Jennifer, Benjamin Ellis, Leslie Ellis, Elizabeth Ellis, David Ellis, Jason Ellis and wife Barbie, Lisa Ellis, Paul Ellis and wife Stephanie, McKenzie Ellis, Jessica Witter and husband Justin and his great grandchildren Evelyn, Alex, Isaac, Zachary, Corbin and Courtney Ellis, Ryann, Reagan, Reese and Eli Witter.
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Rob Melton, and his great grandson, Zachary Ellis.
Visitation will be at Moore's Southlawn from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm with family receiving friends from 5-7 pm, Friday, September 1. The celebration of life service will be 10:00 am, September 2, 2017 at Regency Park Church of the Nazarene with committal service to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
