Obituary

On October 11, 1938 a wonderful miracle occurred. James Pittes, Jr. was born to James and Mary Magdlean. He spent his formative years with his grandmother, Alice Ross, his mom and step-father, Jack Boyd, Sr. He attended Dunbar Elementary School, Carver Jr. High, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1957. He strived to have a good work ethic as he moved into the work force at an early age, until his retirement after 30 years from Ford Glass Plant in 2004.
His love for horses and all things lovely was his signature trade mark. He was a man of quality and strength, and exercised his belief in his Father God. As a very young boy he united with Galilee Baptist Church in Tulsa, and later in life united with his wife Linda at Rhema Bible Church, where they served until his death.
He lived to cherish his wife, Linda Dianne Pittes, two brothers; Jack Boyd (Joylette), Edward Boyd, two sisters; Jacqueline Scott, Eloise Vickers (Gregory), four children from previous union; Cathy Ann Pittes, Sharon Denise Pittes, James Pittes III, Gary DeWayne Pittes (LaWanda), nine grandchildren; Markita Latoya Pittes, Nacretia Nashea Alexander, Terrell Harris, Brandon Pittes, Brylan Pittes, Brittany Nicole Pittes, Arlandus Burks, Brandi Evon Davis, Alyse Simone Davis, three great grandchildren; Kamryn Harris, Aryanna Nicole Pittes, Jaelyn Lynisse Burks, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends, who spent many wonderful moments in his life.
We the family extend our heartfelt thankyou to each and every person for the wonderful prayers, flowers and words of comfort. We are deeply grateful to have in our presence, those who care so deeply and whom we care for so deeply. We send our love to all.
A special thanks to Rose Rock Hospice who poured out not only their expertise, but their heart to us, in this time of such sadness and loss. Also, to his precious doctor, Dr. Joel Adkisson, who was there from beginning to the end. We thank you! To the Rhema Bible Church for all those times James needed the source of strength from pastoral ship until now in his home going. You continue to be the rock that we all need.
