James Douglas Ross, 73, died April 19th, 2016 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
James was born on January 11th, 1943, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Augustus and Leona (Baker) Ross. He was the youngest of five siblings: John Charles, JoLee, Vernon, and Janette. James graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1962. He then earned both a BA in history and MBA from the University of Tulsa. While at TU he met his future wife, Betsy Walker. They married in 1967, and had two sons, Kenneth and Patrick.
James served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard. He enjoyed a successful career in banking, and served as vice president of several Tulsa banks, including: First National, Utica National and Fourth National Bank.
His favorite pastimes included: coaching soccer, studying history, genealogical research, listening to music and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband and inspired his sons to reach for the stars.
James wa preceded in death by his parents: Augustus and Leona; 2 brothers: Johncharles and James Vernon; one sister: Jolee.
James is survived by his wife: Betsy; sister: Janette; 2 sons: Kenneth and wife Jessica, Patrick and wife Blythe; two grandchildren: Coco and Phoebe.
Viewing will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Moore's Memory Chapel 1403 S. Peoria Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74120.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at First United Methodist Church 1115 S. Boulder Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74119.
