James Larry Shumake, 72, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017, Veteran's Day.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Shumake; son, Brian Shumake & his fiance, Angel Taylor; daughter, Megan Marshall and husband, Brent; Granddaughter, Sloane Marshall; Grandson, Knox Marshall. He was preceded in death by this father, James Edward Shumake; Mother Estilene Shumake; Grandson, Cohen Marshall.

He served his country in Vietnam, 1st Calvary. He was a member of the army from 1966-1972. Larry was Honorably Discharged.

He was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal (3d OLC), Aircraft Crewman Badge, Sharpshooter (Rifle-M14) Air Medal (Third through Forth-Third Oak Leaf Cluster).

In 2009, Larry retired as a grade 11 Government Employee from Red River Army Depot.

A service to celebrate Larry's life will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 9350 East 51st Street South, Tulsa, OK. Burial will follow next door at Memorial Park, 5111 S Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK. < http://www.moorefuneral.com/ >
