James Robert "Jim" Staires, 75, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in Tulsa. He was born on January 12, 1948 , in Tulsa. Jim, as he was commonly known, was a beloved husband, "BoyToy", father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a remarkable man who touched the lives of almost everyone he met through his kindness, humor and dedication to family and friends.
Jim had a great sense of humor, integrity and generosity. He was always a salesman at heart and loved to share his wealth of business knowledge with anyone who asked. Jim had a passion for electrical supply sales. Jim and wife, Michah, started JRS, Inc., a contracting business providing voice, data, fiber optics, video services and installations in 1992. He successfully ran the business until his retirement in 2019. In addition to his sales career, contracting business, Jim also ran a cutting horse breeding and training ranch. Jim served in the US Army from April 23, 1969, to June 12, 1970. During his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal and was recognized as a Sharpshooter. Jim attended Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and furthered his education at NEO Miami and Tulsa University.in his free time, Jim enjoyed hunting, riding cutting horses, and collecting guns and knives. Fishing was also a favorite hobby of his when he was younger.
Jim will be deeply missed by his surviving spouse of 24 years (34 together), Michah Staires; his daughter Ashley Fagala and husband, Ryan Fagala; his grandchildren, Tayler Fagala, Tatum Staires, and Teagan Fagala; his sisters, Dorothy Trent, Barbara Collier, and Janie Pearson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sigler James and Juanita Lue Staires; and his brothers, Roy Staires and Troy Staires.
