Lawson Crothers De Voe James
September 13, 1946 - June 10, 2026
James Lawson Crothers De Voe, known to most as Jim, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, on September 13, 1946, Jim lived a life centered around family, hard work, and finding joy in the simple things. He spent much of his career in the concrete pumping industry, where he earned the respect of those around him through his dedication, dependability, and willingness to lend a hand whenever it was needed.
Outside of work, Jim's favorite place was the lake. Whether fishing, relaxing by the water, or spending time with family and friends, those moments brought him some of his greatest happiness. He loved sharing stories, making people laugh, and never missed an opportunity to help someone in need.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughter, Theresa De Voe and her son, Casey; his daughter, Amy De Voe and her children, William, Elayne, and Trenton; his sons, Doug De Voe and Evan De Voe and daughter-in-law Brielle; his brother, Dee De Voe; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Ellen, and his nephew David Macaw.
Jim will be remembered for his strength, generosity, loyalty, and unforgettable sense of humor. More than anything, he will be remembered for the love he gave to his family and the countless lives he touched throughout his years.
A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Southlawn.
While his presence will be deeply missed, the stories, laughter, and love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
