James C. Lefler, Sr. completed his journey through this life March 5, 2018. He is now reunited with his wife of 59 years, Clarabelle Marie Gleitz Lefler, and with other loved ones who have already been welcomed into Heaven. He died peacefully in the presence of his children and family. Born June 21, 1926 to Jess and Vesta Lefler, Jim was the second oldest of six children. He proudly served the United States Army's Parachute Infantry Battalion in World War II. Thereafter, he moved to Tulsa where he met and married the love of his life, Clarabelle, in 1952. Jim and Clarabelle had three children, Cindy Ann Evans, James C. Lefler, Jr., and Sandra Marie Lefler. Jim worked first for Shannon Furniture Company, then Dillard's Department Store as a furniture salesman and later in designer menswear sales. He was a friend to everyone he met. His genuineness and sincerity, coupled with his clever and witty sense of humor, were his trademark. Jim was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where he worshiped with Clarabelle, son Jim and his wife Cheryl, and daughter Cindy. In the 1940's and early 1950's, he was one of the founding members of Will Rogers United Methodist Church in Tulsa. He was also a 33rd degree Mason. Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Clarabelle. He is survived by his three children, Cindy Ann Evans, James C. Lefler, Jr. (and wife, Cheryl), and Sandra Marie Lefler; 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for many things including his love of church, family, fun, and friends. Well done, good and faithful servant. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Faith United Methodist Church. Viewing and family visitation at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association or Faith United Methodist Church (Tulsa) are welcomed.
