Janice Carol Schwier, 79, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Janice Carol Schwier was born in 1939 in Dodge City, Kansas to her parents, Frank and Evangeline Fletcher. She grew up in her beloved Bucklin, Kansas with her sister, Connie McMillan, now of Omaha, Nebraska. She attended Bucklin High School where she graduated Valedictorian of her class. She then studied nursing at Fort Hays State University and received her Bachelor of Science and Registered Nurse Degree. She married the love of her life, Sigmund "Sig" Schwier III, at the Bucklin Methodist Church in 1961. Together they have two sons, Sigmund IV and Jason, both of Tulsa. She enjoyed many things in life including gardening, sewing, traveling, scrapbooking, cooking, knitting, quilting, dogs, and Bible study, but most of all her family and her faith. She was strong in faith and strong in character. She loved to help people physically as a nurse but also spiritually. She loved her Lord Jesus and never missed an opportunity to share her faith or lead someone to the Lord. She strongly believed in education and vowed to never stop learning. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She "loves her grandchildren so" as she used to say. God gave her two daughters later in life, Shawn Schwier and Carrie Schwier. She has six grandchildren: Taylor, Laura, Blake, Bryce, Ben and Alex Schwier, all of Tulsa. She will be greatly missed for those of us still here but her strength, spirit, love, and character will live on. Until we see her again ....
