JANICE SUTTON WILTSHIRE
Jan Wiltshire was born October 8, 1950, and passed away December 24, 2020.
Jan called Tulsa home for most of her adult life, graduating from Memorial High School in 1968. She began her college career at OU and transferred to OSU after meeting her future husband, Mark, and finished her teaching degree. While at OU, Jan was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Jan was a special education and fourth grade teacher and spent the majority of her nearly forty-year career with Jenks Public Schools. Her students loved "Mrs. Wilt" because of her outgoing personality, her love for children, and her exotic classroom creatures.
Jan loved to travel with her family and was able to experience many countries throughout the world. She enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Ft. Gibson Lake and was an avid OU football fan. She also loved decorating her house year round for every holiday and special event especially Halloween and Christmas.
After retiring from teaching, Jan volunteered with Wing It as a certified wildlife rehabilitator for birds, squirrels, racoons, opossums and other furry friends who needed special care before being released back into the wild. Jan was also incredibly blessed to be able to spend time with all of her grandchildren. When her granddaughter was diagnosed with Leukemia, Jan spent weeks at a time at St. Jude in Memphis helping to provide support and care alongside her daughter.
Jan was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Doris Sutton. She leaves behind husband, Mark Wiltshire; daughter, Amy Costello; son-in-law, Brendan Costello; granddaughters, Langley Costello and Hollace Costello; son, Jason Wiltshire; daughter-in-law, Emily Wiltshire; grandsons, Jack Wiltshire, Henry Wiltshire, Phil Wiltshire and granddaughter, Stella Wiltshire; Joy Sullivan, sister; Chuck Sullivan, brother-in-law; Mark Sutton, brother; Patty Sutton, sister-in-law, as well as a large extended family.
