JaVonn Bashae Benson
Sunrise February 4, 1975 - Sunset Sep 23, 2024
On February 4, 1975, a beautiful baby boy was born to Georgia Washington & Ellington Benson
whom they affectionately named JaVonn Bashe Benson (better known as "Hootie") to his close
friends and family. JaVonn committed his life to Christ at a very early age and remained faithful
throughout his lifetime.
JaVonn attended TPS schools and graduated from Central HS in 1994. He was involved in
sports throughout middle/high school both basketball and football. He loved watching the NFL
on TV and could tell you all about the player stats. In 1996 he attended Okmulgee Tech. He
worked up until his health began to fail.
If you knew JaVonn you knew he always kept a smile on his face. God called him home on the
afternoon of September 23, 2024, to be reborn in the holy spirit. Pain no more nor sorrow, just
eternal peace.
JaVonn will truly be missed. His mother Georgia Washington, maternal grandparents George &
Mary Washington, paternal grandmother Alice Armstong and brother Carlos Benson preceded
him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his father Ellington Benson, his one and only
daughter Ciara Benson (Stephanie Bounds) siblings Felisha Lewis, Quanita Benson, Ricky
Washington and Adrian Lewis all of Tulsa, Ok., and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from the eyes. There will be no more death or mourning,
crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed.
Psalm 41:8 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.
Poem
When I am gone, release me and let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't
tie yourself to me with too many tears but be thankful we had so many good years. I have you
my love and you can only guess how much you've given me.
Moore Funeral Home-Memory Chapel will handle his remains, there will be no graveside services.
