Jay Bill Foy, 87, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away peacefully on June 18th, 2019. He was born in Tulsa, OK on August 31st, 1931 and spent most of his life there and in Monkey Island, OK. He was the youngest of three kids to Armina Leona Hamilton.
Jay loved the lake life and took his family there as often as possible. As a teenager, he became a champion high diver in Tulsa. He was also an expert yo-yo entertainer and pool player. Soon after high school graduation, he joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. He served his full four years.
He married Carol Brown of Jenks in 1953 and they were married the remaining 66 years of his life. Their marriage led to three children: Vickie, Chris, and Karen.
After marriage, Jay became one of the top square dance callers in Oklahoma. Jay became a computer programmer and then analyst at Dowell, division of Dow Chemical, and retired from there later in life. He became a computer enthusiast and, post-retirement, started his own computer consulting business that had him traveling for Dowell as a contractor. Later, he began helping people around Grand Lake with computer problems; both businesses and individuals. He had a real servant attitude in helping people with their new technology challenges, and loved teaching and helping people who then became personal friends. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for Monkey Island.
Jay is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Vickie Jones and her husband J.W. of Oklahoma City, OK, Karen Landreth and her husband Ty of Little Rock, AR; son Chris and his wife Susan of Colleyville, TX; sister Mary Fellers of San Antonio, TX; 11 grandkids, four great-grandkids, and many other relatives and friends across Oklahoma and the country.
Funeral will be at Noon, Monday, June 24th, 2019 at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel in Tulsa, OK with viewing the morning of service from 10am to Noon. Services will be led by Pastor Kim Hays of Perry, OK.
