Businesswoman and beloved "QB", Jean Ann Brinlee tragically and suddenly passed from this life on February 28, 2024 in a car accident. Born to Jeanne & D.E. Schirmer in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 15, 1958, Jean Ann's childhood memories included her neighborhood friends, whom she still stayed in touch with, and riding her horses. With her Pony, she would reenact scenes from Bonanza and John Wayne Films, even hanging off the side of the pony to shoot her BB gun. Jean Ann attended Edison High School where she would meet her future husband Chris Brinlee, the love of her life. They did not date in high school, but would re-meet years later.
Jean Ann attended Stephens College in Missouri and majored in Theatre. She talked of being on Broadway or working for Disney. She dreamed of stardom. During a hiatus to acting from a vocal chord injury she returned to Tulsa, and re-met her old classmate Chris Brinlee. They dated mere weeks before getting engaged and were married in a few short months.
Jean Ann and Chris had two daughters, Katie and Leigh. Jean Ann was a devoted mom, taking "her girls" to every gymnastics class, swim lesson, ice skating lesson, soft ball practice and horseback riding lesson. Jean Ann's love of horses was passed on to her girls. Eventually, horseback riding became her girls' main focus, and she traveled all over the US taking them to horse shows. She would undoubtedly tell you these were some of her most cherished years, showing horses with her girls and making best friends along the way.
Jean Ann's most loved pastime outside of horses was "floatin' and boatin'" listening to her "tunes" at Grand Lake with her husband and her lake family. She and her beloved dog Scarlett enjoyed sunny summer days spent at Check-In Bay.
Jean Ann's most favorite title was QB. She was QB to her three grandchildren, Beau, Natalie and Finn who melted her heart. Whether it was baking cookies with them, dying Easter eggs or swimming with them at the lake- Jean Ann always made their time with QB magical.
For the last 24 years, Jean Ann was CEO and Co-Owner of Energy Exchanger Company. In fact, her name "QB" came from the guys at work. She was a titan at barely 5 feet tall, often being the only woman in the room. She earned the respect of her customers and cared deeply for those whom worked for her, often considering them family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Vivienne Dorsey.
She is survived by her husband Chris Brinlee. Her daughters Katie Brinlee Edwards (Chip Edwards) and Leigh Brinlee Dorsey (Jason Dorsey). Her grandchildren Beau Edwards, Natalie Edwards and Finn Dorsey. Her sisters Susan Hendrex (Ralph Hendrex) and Sharon Thompson. Her Brother in Laws Jon Brinlee (Jackie Brinlee) and Mike Brinlee (Sandy Brinlee). Her nieces and nephews Laura McClain (Jim McClain), Sarah Hendrex, Sarah Fink (Joe Fink), Evan Brinlee (Tamra Brinlee), Julie Walker (Eric Walker), and Laura Dumont (Ken Dumont). Her cousins Anita Trojan, Kay Huddleston, Russ Barksdale and Andy Hicks. All of whom she loved dearly and was so proud to call them family and see them at the family reunion.
