Jean Louise Daddow Paulsen passed away peacefully on August 2nd at the age of 94, just four weeks before her 95th birthday. One of three daughters of Wilbur and Grace Daddow, Jean was born on August 28th, 1931, in Wilmington, Delaware. Even as a very young child, she showed great creativity, a desire to learn, and a very quick wit. Living within sight of her high school, PS DuPont, Jean would wait for the bell to ring and then run to class. Later, she attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Majoring in Home Economics, Jean graduated with honors in 1953. After graduation, she joined E.I. Dupont where Jean was involved in introducing the public to a new material, polyester. She travelled all over the United States educating consumers about this synthetic fiber that would usher in the "wash and wear" era. While at Dupont, Jean met the love of her life, a southern gentleman, Robert Paulsen. They were married April 21, 1956. Two baby boys soon followed, Robert Jr. and Keith. In 1959, the family was transferred to Houston, where Jean would devote all her time to her growing family. With the birth of two additional baby boys, Rick and Steve, their family was complete, ultimately transferring to Tulsa in 1977.

Jean was very dedicated to her boys' education. She used her creativity and passion for learning to teach her sons to read and excel in school. Jean would help with homework, encourage reading in the summers, and drill on SAT preparation. Her tenacity paid off as all her boys would go to college and receive advanced degrees in engineering and medicine. Beyond education, Jean had a love for tennis. This started with her father and grew with her boys. Tennis would become the family pastime. Jean remained active on the court, played in many leagues well into her eighties and developed some of her closest friendships as a result. A few of these friendships led to her "empty nester" endeavor, Cornucopia Catering, that enriched special occasions of Tulsans for over a decade. She modestly said that anyone who can read a recipe can cook. Several of Jean's trademark recipes are still favorites with friends and family. Active at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, in both parish life committees and the altar guild, Jean was always driven by a desire to help others. She will be most remembered for her positivity, tenacity, living out her faith, and above all, her devotion to family. Jean is survived by sons Bob, Jr., Keith, Rick, and Steve, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren with one on the way.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any donations be made to Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be 4pm-6pm, Friday, August 7, 2026, at Moore Southlawn, Tulsa. Funeral Service will be 10am, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Tulsa.
