In Austin, TX on November I l, 1957, a beautiful baby girl was born to Lucelle M. & James A. Washington. They named their only daughter, Gloria Jean. The Washingtons were a military family and moved to Lawton, OK where "Jean" was raised. She attended Lawton Eisenhower High School when she was involved in a lot of school activities and ROTC. She graduated with the class of 1975.
At the age of eighteen she found her identity and knew what her vision was. It lead her to work for the Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO). Jean served them faithfully for over twenty years. After retiring Jean attended Cameron University in Lawton where she received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Jean started a second career when she started working for Total Medical Staffing as their Director of Operations. To show that she had a love for education Jean went back to school and received her RN certification.
Thanks to her mother, Jean was freely blessed with a wonderful spirit of giving, and her mother was her first priority. She was dedicated to giving and not receiving anything in return. Jean loved giving to the community and many organizations awarded her for her hard work. One of Jean's favorite charities was the Washington B. Foundation, and her family will continue Jean's hard work in her memory.
Jean's love for her brothers goes without saying. As the only girl she was very protective of them. Her nieces and nephews never went without. She was the one that made sure everything was In order. The family is going to miss her beautiful presence.
Jean leaves to cherish her memories of her loving mother, brothers, nieces, nephew, and family.
