Jeanne Marie Lloyd of Tulsa, Oklahoma, concluded her journey on earth on August 18,
2025, at age 75. Born to Dean and Jean Lloyd in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 30, 1949,
Jeanne lived a full and joyful life.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Jean Lloyd, and sister, Pat
Harkin. She leaves behind her partner and wife of 34 years, Susan Baston; as well as
her family, filled with many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who
loved her mightily. She is survived by her brother, Steven Lloyd and his wife, Nyana;
and nieces, Lisa Look and Morgan Fisher, and several great-nieces, nephews, and
loving cousins.
Also grieving for Jeanne are her three cats - Torti, Ginger and Ms. Kitty, who stayed
close and watched over her until the very end.
Jeanne was a graduate of Cherokee Elementary and Junior High School in Tulsa and
McLain High School in 1967. She was a member of the Turley Babes softball team and
was part of the 1963 Tulsa County Championship team from Cherokee Junior High.
She attended Oklahoma State University for a period of time before beginning a career
in customer service.
In a group setting Jeanne was an observer; the one who listened intently and took
everything in. She was quiet, until an OU football game, OU softball game, or the
Kansas City Chiefs were on TV. During those games she was very vocal, and the
profanity would flow. She even had a "swear jar;" if she had actually paid what she
owed during those games, it would have totaled a nice sum of money.
Jeanne showed her love to family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors by baking for
them. Cookies, desserts, and pies - especially pecan, her specialty. Many received not
only baked goods, but beautiful and unique stained-glass pieces she lovingly created,
as well as tomatoes and peppers from her bountiful garden.
Although Jeanne was a Type 1 diabetic for 67 years and later in her life dealt with heart
disease, osteoporosis, and finally cancer, she never asked "why me?" Her doctors
marveled at her positive outlook, even when told the cancer had metastasized her brain.
A special thank you to Jeanne's incredible care team from LiveWell Hospice. Nurses
Rachel and Scott, bath aides Paris and Jessica, Chaplain Randy and social worker
Micah were loved by Jeanne and brought great comfort to both Jeanne and Susan
during the past three months. Dear friends and family also provided food, laughter,
flowers and support during Jeanne's final health journey.
Per Jeanne's wishes there will be no service. She did agree that we could do a small,
family get-together in her honor as long as hot dogs are involved. So, in the near future,
when the temperatures cool off, we will honor her with hot dogs, Cherry Coke Zero, and
cheesecake.
In her memory, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association, the
local SPCA or your favorite animal rescue organization.
