Celebration of new life began January 7th, 2018 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Jennie was born on March 13th, 1926 to William H. and Bertie Bowers. She was the third child and first daughter of 10 brothers and sisters: William Henry Bowers, Jr., Hubert Ray Bowers, Abbie Dale Bowers, and Velta Hall have all preceded her in death, leaving Alta Kiriokos, Joseph Limuel Bowers, Minnie Bell Minehart and Darlene Eursey.
At the age of 15 years, Jennie married Franklin Dale Horner on December 3rd, 1941. After the painful loss of a first child, she and Dale went on to have four children which she described as her greatest accomplishment: Jennah Paul of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Franklin Dale Horner, Jr., and wife Lisa of Madill, Oklahoma; Fonda Horner of Tulsa; and Iris Bailey and husband Jerry of Inola, Oklahoma. Jennie and Dale's marriage lasted, with Dale's death in 2005, for 64 years.
Her special blessings were their grandchildren including Bethy Hay, Frankie Mills, Rowdy Horner, Sarah Reese, Roger Buckmaster, Heather Benzel, Jerry Lee Bailey, Jennie Smith and Jessica Evans.
She and Dale have 25 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. Family was very special to Jennie including her nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Jennie was of Protestant faith having been raised in the era of tent revivals from early childhood. Although her formal education ended at eighth grade, she helped teach in the one-room school house and continued seeking God's word and teaching Bible classes. Jennie Horner was a prayer warrior all of her life. She worked to help everyone she met know and love Jesus Christ as she did for the glory of God.
Being a military spouse, Jennie and Dale traveled extensively and she shared God's promise with many.
Jennie V. Horner will be memorialized on January 11th, 2018 at 1pm at Southlawn Chapel Moore Funeral Home, Tulsa, Oklahoma. There after interned in Fairfield Cemetery, Owasso, Oklahoma and her new life and heavenly body at God's right hand forever and ever, Amen.
