Jerry C. Aldridge a man of strong faith and upright character, passed away at the age of 87 on Thursday December 8th 2022 with his son at his bedside after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Jerry is survived by his fiance Jodi Blaschke, son Jerry C. Aldridge Jr. (Wife Kristina), and two grandsons Michael & Steven Dodge. He was proceeded in death by his parents, James and Eloise Aldridge; sister Janet and daughter Latreesa Dodge.
Jerry was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1957 as the Cold War was starting to heat up. After boot camp he served 4 years at Ft. MacArthur in California, Battery "C" 554th Missile Battalion NIKE [Ajax]. After his time in the Army, he found his calling in the automotive business. After starting as a new car salesman with Midwest Chevrolet in Tulsa he quickly made a name for himself in the auto industry. Through over 45 years in the automotive business, he held many positions with the pinnacle being the ownership of his own dealership, Aldridge Chevrolet & Oldsmobile and later adding Pontiac, Buick & GMC. He won countless awards and trips from General Motors. He was also a winner of the coveted Ichiban (#1 in Japanese) Dealer award from Isuzu Commercial Truck Corporation.
In his personal time Jerry had many hobbies. He was an accomplished private pilot. He owned various single engine aircraft through the years with his favorite being his Piper Archer II. Jerry was also involved with the Tulsa classic car scene in his 1958 Chevrolet Impala and was a member of the Tulsa Antique Automobile Club. Jerry also enjoyed being an accomplished motorcycle rider traveling throughout the United States with the Yamaha V-Star riding club. In retirement he rekindled his love of antique Cushman Motor Scooters that he and his son Jerry Jr. were able to restore and ride. Jerry was a member of the Oklahoma and National Cushman Clubs.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. John's medical center for their compassionate care during Jerry's time there. They would also like to thank all of the friends and extended family that prayed and reached out in his final days.
As the apostle of Jesus said in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing".
