Jerry Duane Carr was born October 18, 1937, in Raton, New Mexico, to Otto and Addiebelle Carr and grew up with his adored siblings, Imogene, Dale and Gale.

Raised in New Mexico and California, after graduating from high school, Jerry served his country in the US Navy. He then attended Abilene Christian College, where he met the love of his life Linda Yates. They married, and Jerry began his career in education, both as a classroom teacher and a principal. After the birth of their first child, Jerry and Linda moved back to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Jerry served as a school principal for several Tulsa elementary schools.

Jerry's great loves in life were Linda, singing, growing all things beautiful and colorful in his flower beds, and sowing into the lives of others, particularly his grandchildren. Jerry passed from this life on April 4, 2016.

He is survived by, Linda, his wife of almost 53 years, his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Julie Carr and their children Madison, McKenna, Justus, Maesyn, Jairus, Journey, Merci and Jakin and by his daughter and son-in-law Amy and Corbyn VanBrunt and their children Coleman, Ashton, and Cale.

Visitation will be 6-8 P.M., Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 8, 2016 at Park Plaza Church of Christ, 5925 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
