Obituary

LYSINGER, JERRY M.,82, died Saturday, October 8, 2016, Tulsa, OK. Jerry was born January 9, 1934, Tulsa, OK., to Scott Jackson & Hildegard (Brockmann) Lysinger.

Jerry was a member of the "Greatest Generation" and like so many young men of the time, after high school Jerry joined the Army. WWII was winding down, but the Korean Conflict was heating up. Jerry was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in Korea. It was during this time Jerry met lifelong friends that comprised a group called the Combat Pilots.

Jerry & Marcia hosted several of their reunions over the years. After the service he worked for Nelson Electric for a year, he attended and then graduated from TU with a Bachelor of Science in Business and then attending the prestigious University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. Jerry seemed to run several businesses simultaneously, and be a leader in our
Community. Jerry owned and operated Kingly Business Forms for 43 years. He also owned and operated East Tulsa Office Supply for many years. Jerry was a member and elder at John Calvin Presbyterian Church.

Jerry was Tulsa's representative (serving as secretary & treasurer) to The United Nations where he worked for the former Secretary General of the UN, Dag Hammarskjold. He treasured the time spent with this great man. Jerry also represented Tulsa's Small Business Administration
in Washington, DC. Jerry was a certified commercial pilot and loved flying. Representative, Jim Jones call Jerry his personal pilot. He was truly a renaissance man, loving and attending the Opera & Arena Football, with the same enthusiasm.

Jerry was active in The Rotary Club of Tulsa, he was awarded a special lifetime membership. Jerry loved flying, meeting people, and helping out however he could. He will be truly missed.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Marcia (Stewart). He is survived by his daughters: Nancy Lysinger and Amelia Lysinger and her son Roman Peters; son: David Jackson Lysinger and his wife Amy; step grandchildren: Jeremy Jackson, Jessica Jackson and Jorjan Jackson. He is also, survived by step great grandchildren: Alexia, Rayne, Emory, Jace, Emily, Mariah, Tim & Joshua. He was preceded in death by his two step children: Fredrick L. Jackson & Todd Alan Jackson; his sister: Emily Woodcock and his brother: Scott Lysinger.
