Obituary
Geraldine Francis (Napier) Pirtle was my mother. She was the seventh child of nine children. Her mom and dad were Eli Edward Napier and Ola Viola Stacks. She was born June 12, 1929 at the end of the "roaring twenties". She has two remaining sisters. Delores Ash, the oldest, and Clara Bennett. They were all very close.
She had two children: a daughter, Linda Kay Laurrell Whitsitt, and a son, Michael Vernon VanDeventer, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2001. Mike was fifty years old. She had a step-daughter, Connie Pirtle, who also preceded her in death at the age of 46.
Linda has three children: Melinda Lou Geeteh, Holly Ann Cowden and Kirk Allen Whitsitt. Mike
had three children: Ann Marie, Michael Edward VanDeventer, and Summer Dawn Hill.
Jerry married Alfred Ray Pirtle in October of 1964. They were married 52 years. Together, they raised Al's daughter, Connie Jean. Connie had a son, Curtis Ray Finchum.
Jerry and Al had seven grandchildren: Melinda Geeteh, Holly Cowden, Ann Marie, Michael Edward VanDeventer, Kirk Allen Whitsitt, Curtis Ray Finchum, and Summer Dawn Hill.
They had eight great-grandchildren: Derek Alan Carper, Nicholas Scott Carper, Hannah Marie Billingsly, Ashley Renee' Billingsly, Blake Edward Carper, Corey Gene Billingsly, Levi Edward VanDeventer, and Logan Mahann Whitsitt.
They had six great-great-grandchildren and one on the way: Jaden Marie, Jacob Michael, Nolan Lee, Mason Scott, Liam Alexander, and Luke. A new baby girl will be born in October.
Mom dearly loved her family and all of us will miss her. Jaden will remember her, but all the others are too young. They will get to know her by the stories we tell them and the pictures we show them.
She lives on in all her family. We know this is not forever. We will have a grand reunion with her in Heaven one day. Then neither death, nor sickness, nor sadness will ever part us again .
We love you Mom. This is not goodbye, just a fond Adieu, until we see you again.
Visitation will be 5-7PM, Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 25, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
