Obituary
Jerry Wilson Steele, 84, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on April 22, 2016.
Jerry was born in Springfield, MO to Fred C. and Mae (Wilson) Steele. He grew up in Tulsa, attending Kendall Elementary, Wilson Junior High, and graduating from Will Rogers High School. While in high school, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Jerry was a Veteran who served in the United States Navy based out of Pearl Harbor from 1950-1954.
Jerry married his loving wife Jayne Puls on August 19, 1958 at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. He graduated from The University of Tulsa in 1959 with a Business Degree and worked at First National Bank and Trust and Bank of Oklahoma during his 40 year career. He was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. He served as President of the Trustees and volunteered countless hours at the church and helping church members whenever needed.
Jerry was an avid golfer and self-taught woodworker.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jayne Steele; sons Brian (Carol), Bruce (Laura); daughter Becky (Harold) McLeod; brother Jack Steele of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren Beth, David, Stewart, and Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to St. Francis Hospice (918-494-6465).
