Jesse Willard Hosey, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2025 at University Village in Tulsa, OK. Jesse was born on July 15, 1925 on Calico Mountain near Paris, AR to parents William Isaac Hosey and Alice (Bullock) Hosey.
He graduated from Haworth High School in Haworth, OK, then went on to obtain his bachelor`s degree in education from Southeastern College in Durant, OK, then his master's degree in education at A&M College (OSU) in Stillwater, OK. He later was an educator for Tulsa Public Schools.
Jesse was in the U.S. Navy during World War II, September 1943 through May 1946. He was an second class Electrician`s mate,. His military awards include the Victory Metal, American Campaign Metal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Metal, and the Philippine Liberation Campaign Metal.
Jesse had the privilege to serve as President for many local organizations including Elementary Principal`s Association, Southland Civitan Club, Retired Teachers Association, and the Association of Early Childhood Education. He also served as Elder, Deacon, and Education Director at 29th & Yale Church of Christ.
In his free time, Jesse was in a bowling league, loved playing golf, woodworking, trips to National Parks, the beach in Florida, Eureka Springs, AR, Branson, MO, cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. Most of all, he was passionate about spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Alice Hosey, brother Raymond Hosey, and sister Allene Hosey, all of Redland, OK.
Jesse is survived by his wife Marjorie Charlene Hosey of Tulsa, OK, daughters Lynne Hosey of Tulsa, OK and Brenda Francis (husband Keith) of Beggs, OK, grandchildren Corbin Francis (wife Kristen) of Broken Arrow, OK and Bryce Francis (wife Krissie) of Sand Springs, OK, and great grandchildren Emilia and Cole Francis (Corbin`s children), and Rowen and Larkin Francis (Bryce`s children).
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 6-8PM at Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 1:00PM at Moore Southlawn Chapel with a graveside to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.
